The Emerald Coast Children’s Advocacy Center Klosings for Kids Kontest Kickoff  Slated for June 1

Niceville, Fla. May 27, 2010, The Emerald Coast Children’s Advocacy Center Klosings for Kids Kontest Kickoff is slated for June 1 at 4:30 p.m. at 401 McEwen Drive. The Kontest will run June 1 through August 31.

The Children’s Advocacy Center prevents child abuse, protects child abuse victims, and helps those victims and their families recover from the trauma.  Last year, The Center helped 462 children throughout Okaloosa and Walton counties.

The Klosings for Kids Kontest gives Realtors, lenders, title companies and brokers a chance to make a significant impact in the community by contributing a portion of each closing to The Center in honor of their client.

“Klosings for Kids raises money for a fantastic cause, but it’s also a fun competition for the real estate community. I hope we can win the traveling trophy at our office. It would be nice to have bragging rights for a year since we’re located so close to the Center,” Century 21 Wilson-Minger Agency’s Dawn Johnson said.

In addition to a chance at winning the trophy, participating offices will receive ongoing recognition, and qualifying offices will receive a permanent 8” X 8” brick in the Wall of Protection at The Center. Interested participants should contact Jen Floro at jen@eccac.org to RSVP for Tuesday’s Kickoff. In addition to Century 21 Wilson-Minger Agency, RE/MAX Southern Realty, Star Real Estate and Coldwell Banker have already committed to the Kontest.

“We all know this is for our children, but it’s great to have fun with it and see who can pool together the best group of participants,” Emerald Coast Children’s Advocacy Center Executive Director Julie Hurst said.
