Thanks to the ECCAC team, during the month of July, seven cases were settled in court, with all but one of them being sexual in nature. Three were found guilty by a jury of their peers. Two of these are awaiting sentencing, while one already received life in prison. The other four pled guilty and were sentenced to a total of over eighty five years.
This is a testament to the brave children and the ECCAC team, as well as everyone that supports the ECCAC's mission. Without the staff, partners, volunteers and supporters, ECCAC would not have the resources or ability to help these children. So
thank you for your continued support and give yourself a little pat on the back. Children in our community are a little bit safer, and those affected can now start to heal.
We invite you to tour our centers! Tours will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
the last Tuesday of every month in DeFuniak Springs and the last Thursday of every month in Niceville. Our DeFuniak location will host tours on August 29 and September 26.Upcoming tour dates in Niceville are August 31 and September 28. No need to call ahead or make a reservation, just stop in and see what your support allows us to do.

Our staff works long hours and often times can't leave for lunch. To assist them when they can't get away and choose to eat at our center, we are looking for someone to donate a new microwave. Our old one has lasted many years and has recently taken on a new personality that is scaring everyone.
The ECCAC is searching for someone well-versed in general maintenance. Duties would include small repairs and changing lightbulbs. Additionally, we are in need of someone who has a knowledge of plumbing and/or HVAC. Our Niceville locations has
units and as you can image we have frequent issues. If you or someone you know is well-versed and able to visit our center, diagnose the issue and provide a solution, that would be great!
Please contact Kim Henderson at
for more info or to volunteer.
The ECCAC is currently accepting donations of boys clothes sizes 4T and 10/12.
NOTE: We are not currently accepting stuffed animal donations.
A big thanks goes out to FT WALTON BEACH MEDICAL CENTER. Their donation of a medical exam table brings us one step closer to being able to do medical exams in the Pierce Family Children's Advocacy Center in DeFuniak Springs. Thank you Denise for helping make this happen.
Did you hear that Stubbs Orthodontics recently raised $1,425 for the ECCAC from their paddleboard raffle?! Well, check out the lucky raffle winners. We can't wait to see the Albee family in action on their new BOTE board.
The Emerald Coast Woodworking Group came by for a tour of our DeFuniak Springs center on Friday, August 11 to drop off a number of beautiful, handmade wooden toys for us to pass out to the children who visit our center. Their work is absolutely amazing! We can't wait to see the joy on the children's faces when they receive these wooden cars, planes, and tops.
The Emerald Coast Children's Advocacy Center gives a big thanks to As You Like It in Mary Esther for their participation in this past April's National Child Abuse Prevention Month. Blue is the national campaign's color. Accordingly, the salon donated their time and products to give ladies blue hair extensions for a $25 donation with ECCAC's Strand Against Abuse program which resulted in an $800 donation to the non-profit. It is through continued community support that we are able to provide life-changing services for children in need!
Thank you Niceville Loc N Stor for donating a storage unit to help with our storage needs. We are proud to have you as community partners!
